Description of the workshop:

Climate change has been an ongoing topic for many years and its currently a priority in UN agenda post-2015 plan. There have been lot of emphasis on this issue but lack of focus on its health effects and how related both topics can be. Many people are not aware of such health effects nor the current status of our climate; highlighting this issue is essential to improve our planet further.

"Training New Trainers (TNT)"

Goals of the workshop:
  •     Empower students with leadership qualities to refine and apply their skills towards the education of fellow students.
  •     Deliver a structured training to students facilitating the useful management of resources to carry out a successful project nationally or internationally.
  •    Establish a network of student trainers in Oman to facilitate sharing of ideas and experiences and the successful implementation of projects.
  •     Raise awareness of new trainers and students about IFMSA, its activities and its role with regards to training and other activities of other committees.


Description of the workshop:
 TNT is an abbreviation for “Training New Trainers”. TNT is a peer education concept within IFMSA in order to strengthen competencies within NMOs. It is a 3 day workshop usually and it has been conducted only one in Oman. This time we will have 2 TNT's running simultaneously to get a bigger number of highly selected Omani trainers.Note: This workshop is for Medical Students Only.

Description of the workshop:

LOL is the name of the workshop which obviously reflects the funny mode that will be used in delivering the information but the embedded meaning of LOL is something different! LOad Limits workshop aims to present different types of loads and the various ways to deal with them in order to prevent any further complications.

Community Mobilization and Advocacy

Goals of the workshop:

1- To find best practices in community mobilization, development and advocacy.
2- Tips to find support from governmental allies in community mobilization, development and advocacy.
3- Gain tips and tools for engaging medical students to mobilize and advocate for themselves, as well as how to advocate as an ally.
4- Engages participants using a peer support framework to explore best practices in community mobilization, development and advocacy.


Description of the workshop:

Over 2 days the workshop will discuss the Key tasks involved in community mobilization and the role of medical students in it. The workshop will give the participants an idea about the meaning of community mobilization and advocacy, and what is the normal strategies done for this purpose giving some real life examples. Emphasis on the roles which medical students play in community mobilization and development will be targeted in this workshop. Participants will be able to apply their skills and knowledge which they gain in the workshop to try and put some ideas and strategies in community development. 

NOTE: all ideas and tips will be about the Omani community mostly.

Description of the workshop:

The trainees will be taken in journey to realize through it how different we are and that there has to be a way to find something in common with the other person. Also the importance of understanding that people like to socialize will be emphasized in the workshop and that we as persons just have to find the right way to get to them and understand their body language.
